Hey everyone - I am currently a Wando Band Booster board member and have developed a student and parent alumni association and trying to get contacts on past band members. Please contact me at bandsofwando@yahoo.com for additional information. We are currently hosting 3 events a year, serving dinner one night of band camp, working booths at LCI and hosting the annual band banquet in May. It would be awesome to have all of you as members. I hope to hear from all of you soon.

Subject: Wando Band Alumni Reunion (10/4)

Hi Guys!!
The first ever Wando Band Alumni Reunion is almost here!! I am in town and working on some final details. Here is an update for everyone:

THURSDAY:
Let the festivities begin!! We have a group of night owls meeting up to see Plane Jane perform at Wild Wing on Coleman Boulevard. I do have a correction….our alum will not be performing with the band that night, but we are still in for a GREAT time. Although the band will start playing at 10:30 pm, I would suggest getting there at 9:00 pm. That will give us a chance to get settled and order an appetizer or beverage, if you like, to get things rolling. The Management is going to set aside an area for us so that we can stick together.

FRIDAY:
We have about 100 people coming to the game. I have met with the Band Booster President, and they are going to rope off an area for us by the band so that everyone can sit together. After the Homecoming Football Game, I have a place set-up that we can ALL go to instead of breaking up into smaller groups. Just 2.5 miles from the stadium:

SATURDAY:
It’s NOT too late! I still have space available to the party at the Liberty Tap Room from 7 pm to 10 pm. Tickets are $50 per person with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Scholarship Fund. The Menu is below:

I am following up on Monday with a contact with the Restaurant Association. It may be possible to set aside an area for us as a common meeting location. I will keep you posted if they are able to do that for us, otherwise, we can meet up around the stage which is in the middle of everything

CONTRIBUTIONS NEEDED FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND:
I am still looking for contributions for the scholarship fund. My goal was to raise enough money to provide a scholarship to a student for the next two years -- $1600. Providing that I collect everyone’s money that has RSVP’d so far, we are shy of the goal by $500. REGISTRATION FORMS:
For those who have not returned the registration form, I will have some blank forms with me at all of our events. Just see me to fill one out.

I can't believe that it is actually here and happening. Thanks again for everyone's support and helping to spread the word. I hope this is just the beginning. =)

I have added a Video page to the site. I am still looking for any videos or pictures from the 1970s and 1980s of the band to share, so if you have any please let me know. I can convert any video from tape if you do not have the resources to do that. jim@wandoband.com

I also added a Band Pictures Page of some group shots of the bands. I could definitely use some more if anyone out there has some to share. I also duplicated the photos in a very BIG size at the end so it is easier to make out who is in the photos.

Lastly, there is now a Guestbook for anyone wanting to leave any comments or memories that they would like to share.
